Who we are
VIIIAIN Remote and VIIIAIN Helper are made by VILEN (SYNC About). This policy covers the iOS app, the Mac helper and this website’s app pages.
What the app does
VIIIAIN Remote and VIIIAIN Helper control Serato DJ Pro on your own Mac. They talk to each other over a USB cable or your local network.
Data we collect
None. The apps have no accounts, no ads and no analytics. Track names, cue points and your library stay on your Mac and your device.
Local network
The iOS app asks for local network access only to find VIIIAIN Helper on your Mac. Only devices you approve on the Mac can connect.
Mac permissions
VIIIAIN Helper asks for Accessibility, Automation and Screen Recording only to control Serato on your Mac: to press keys in Serato and to see where its library cursor is. The screen is read on your Mac, never saved or sent. It reads Serato’s library database only to show your crates and tracks.
Demo mode
DEMO MODE in the app works offline with built-in demo tracks. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Updates
When you click Check for Updates, the helper opens our website with its build number and Mac type (Apple Silicon or Intel) so the page can show the right download. No personal data is sent.
Problem reports
Only when you click Send Report in VIIIAIN Helper, it sends us a report: helper and Serato logs (they can include track names), app and macOS versions, settings, and the note you type. It goes to the developer's Telegram and is used only to fix the problem. No passwords.
Beta requests
If you request a beta invite on this site, we use your name and email only to send the TestFlight invite.
Storage and deletion
Problem reports and beta requests are kept only as long as needed to fix the problem or send the invite. Ask us on Telegram and we delete them. We never sell or share your data.
Children
The apps are not directed at children and do not collect data from anyone.
